Refund policy.

When OverpayOwl will refund a subscription charge, and how to request one. Note: this policy applies to the OverpayOwl subscription itself — recoveries on disputed bills are paid by the company you have a contract with, not by us.

NoticeDraft pending legal review. Paid tiers go live with Stripe; until then there's nothing to refund.

The short version

We refund Pro Investigator subscriptions in two cases:

  • You signed up by mistake or were billed in error — full refund, no questions.
  • Owly closed zero cases with a recovery during your first paid month and you cancel within 30 days — full refund for that month.

What we don't refund

  • Months after the first where Owly opened cases (recovered or denied) — you used the service.
  • The Agency tier — refund handled on a case-by-case basis since it includes onboarding.
  • The Investigator (free) tier — nothing to refund.

How to request a refund

  1. Email billing@overpayowl.com from the address on your account.
  2. Include the charge date and the reason. We'll process it within 5 business days.

Cancellation vs refund

Cancellation stops future renewals — you keep access until the end of the current billing period. Refund returns the money you paid. The two are separate; cancelling doesn't automatically trigger a refund.

Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please reach out before issuing a chargeback. Chargebacks are slow, expensive for everyone, and Owly will resolve the issue faster directly.
